| News - Latest News | | Written by Tushar Gajjar | | Wednesday, 11 April 2012 15:03 | The United States Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre today cancelled the tsunami watch for the Indian Ocean areas including eastern parts of India few hours after two major earthquakes hit Indonesia. First quake was measured at 8.6 on Richter Scale while second quake was slightly milder at 8.2 on scale.
The US Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre initially issued a warning following the 8.6-magnitude earthquake, which was later scaled down and removed in some areas of Indian Ocean. However, the warning was issued again by the USPTWC for two hours after the second earthquake of 8.2 Richter scale hit the Aceh province of Indonesia. Few hours after the second earthquake the tsunami watch was lifted for Thailand, Myanmar, Australia and Malaysia. Even many hours after the earthquakes hit Indonesia, people were still standing outside their homes and offices, afraid of aftershocks.

Earlier they were 1-4 down during the regular play but came back really well to enter the finals of WSH.
It was one of the most stirring win for Pune when they really worked like a team and reserved their birth in the finals to play against Sher-E-Punjab. Sher-E-Punjab outplayed Karnataka Lions at their home ground in Bangalore 4-1 to make the final of the World Series Hockey on Sunday. Pope Benedict XVI spoke before a large audience yesterday in the Plaza de la Revolución in Havana. This is his first visit to Cuba. He called for change in Cuba and the rest of the world.

Benedict's speech in Havana focused on the rise of religious freedom in Cuba since the 1990s – when the country dropped official atheism – as well as the need for more religious freedom in the country.
